CDA was contracted to produce several land ownership maps to facilitate the site selection process for development activities in the central Iowa region. The project involved acquiring pertinent GIS data, running data queries to isolate potential sites and publishing final results in the form of hard copy maps with data tables showing relevant site data.

CDA provided master planning and engineering services for Deer Creek, a master-planned, mixed-use community located in Ankeny, Iowa. As part of the due diligence and preliminary engineering process, CDA obtained GIS data sets for the site to analyze existing site conditions. The GIS data came from varied sources and was integrated into one master data set for the entire site. Soils, wetlands, slopes, flood zone and underground coal mines were all data layers that were analyzed during the preliminary stages of site planning.
