This 3 acre neighborhood park was integrally planned and designed within a new 160 residential community. Facilities included play areas for two separate age groups, a basketball court, and a large gazebo.
CHILDSERVE CHILD CARE CENTER JOHNSTON, IOWA
The ChildServe Child Care Center provides care for approximately 150 children, ranging in age from newly born to six years old. A complete redesign of its existing playground area was in order to provide modern and unique amenities for the children as well as more integrated play opportunities for children requiring special needs. Programming goals for the new playground were not just limited to new equipment and play surfacing. One of ChildServe’s primary goals was the introduction of more natural play areas by integrating natural elements into the play areas. Natural elements, including large turf open play areas, berming, enhanced landscaping, and a variety of surfacing materials will provide tactile, sensory, and dramatic play areas that are not typical of traditional play grounds.
KNOLLS/CROSSROADS TRAIL WEST DES MOINES, IOWA
This project involved 1.4 miles of pedestrian/bicycle trail and included improvements to an existing play area in a neighborhood park.
